Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in discussions with prominent Indian gamers on various issues within the gaming industry. just a week before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Spearheaded by the 73-year-old Prime Minister, the initiative gathered seven leading gamers at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, the official residence of the PM, adorned with neon lights reflecting the ambiance of the present generation.
The discussions revolved around recent developments in the gaming industry and the Modi government’s recognition of gamers’ creativity, aimed at bolstering the gaming sector in India. Additionally, the talks focused on distinguishing between gambling and gaming, as well as addressing the participation of women in the gaming community.
Among the attendees were renowned gamers such as Payal Dhare, Tirth Mehta, Animesh Agarwal, Anshu Bisht, Naman Mathur, Mithilesh Patankar, and Ganesh Gangadhar. Payal Dhare, a popular female gamer in India, shared a photo with PM Modi from the meeting on her Instagram account, expressing her honor and gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the future of gaming in India.
WHO IS PAYAL DHARE?
Payal Dhare, professionally known as “Payal Gaming,” stands out as one of India’s leading female game creators and personalities within the Indian Gaming Community (IGC). She serves as a content creator and streamer for S8UL Esports, an organization housing numerous content creators and streamers. While primarily streaming the popular Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) title, she has recently diversified her content by streaming various other games. Raised in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, where traditional beliefs discouraged girls from playing video games, Payal refused to let stereotypes hinder her love for gaming. Despite initial reservations from her mother, her father consistently supported her pursuit of making a mark in the gaming world.

According to AFK Gaming, Payal has been making waves since 2021, winning multiple content creator and streamer awards at prestigious events like the Indian Gaming Awards, Creators United, and more. In 2023, she clinched the Dynamite Gaming Creator of the Year award at the Creators United Awards, followed by the Best Female Gamer award at the InfluenceEX Awards. Additionally, she was named Fan Favorite Female Streamer of the Year at the India Gaming Awards Season 2 held on October 17, 2023. Continuing her winning streak, Payal secured the Gaming Creator of the Year Female award at the Creators Unit 2.0 Awards on March 15, 2024, marking her presence at one of Asia’s largest creator festivals.
Currently, Payal’s YouTube channel, named Payal Gaming, has amassed a whopping 3.7 million subscribers. According to Social Blade, her estimated earnings for this channel range from $3.4K to $54K USD per month, or $40.5K to $648.6K USD annually. In addition to her main channel, Dhare also runs a separate YouTube Shorts channel called Payal Shorts, which has over 600K subscribers. Speaking to news agency PTI about her meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Payal’s father expressed his pride, stating, “I am very proud. When PM Modi called her to meet, I felt extremely happy. Sitting with the Prime Minister of our country and playing games with him is unbelievable. Everyone who meets me now says that Payal has made the village and the district proud.”
